Man Tweets for Weed at Work; Job Goes Up in Smoke

An auto shop worker in Toronto decided to use twitter to ask someone to deliver him some weed at work, a tweet which the York Regional Police saw and amusingly retweeted, saying, “Awesome! Can we come too?” The tweet went a bit viral, eventually landing in front of higher-ups at the man’s job. He no longer has one. The lesson here is best put by a later tweet from YRP, “If you shouted on a busy street corner about illegal activity & we drove by, we’d intervene. Think of Twitter as a virtual street corner.”
