BB Ranch in Washington uses medical marijuana plant leftovers from a growers co-op to feed 4 pigs. The stems, leaves and undesirable small buds are fed to them. The rancher says the 4 weed-fed pigs are slightly heavier than their peers.

Rejoice Seattle bus riders… bus drivers will now treat legal amounts of lost marijuana (up to 1 ounce) as they would forgotten cell phones and iPods: as personal items that should be returned to a lost-and-found center for recovery by owners. In order to claim lost marijuana, owners will have to specify when it was lost, on which route and what the marijuana and its container looks like.

The view from across the pond: Marijuana is now legal in Washington state in the north-west of America. Will the sales kick-start an economic boom?
Last week, 11 Seattle medical marijuana businesses received shutdown letters from the DEA. One of those targeted is a small medical marijuana collective in Ballard, The Only Natural, which has only 20 plants and 8 ounces kept for sale to a small group of patients. The owner, Douglas Gerdes, had this to say: “Either we trust our government, or all the people that are willing to do this are just taking a risk and we’re all being stupid.”
