Representative Corey Wilson wants to amend Maine’s marijuana legalization bill to limit statewide marijuana growing to 10 centers, and one single distribution service. The worst part; he wants to auction off the contracts for these 11 entities. He also wants 25% of the revenue to go to drug law enforcement.

While public support for marijuana legalization in Kentucky is only about 25%, almost 80% of residents think medical marijuana should be legal and accessible for those that need it. It seems that the general public is accepting the fact that medical marijuana won’t cause the sky to fall, it’s just a matter of time before it is accepted that legalized recreational marijuana won’t either.

In a great article on The Daily Chronic, former US Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agent Jamie Haase urges his fellow Alabama citizens to be the first southern state to embrace marijuana legalization. He describes the barbaric actions of Mexican drug cartels, which make most of their money in US marijuana sales. He also describes an incredibly wasteful 2-month police operation targeting marijuana-using college students.
