Seattle Police to Distribute Bags of Chips at Hempfest

This weekend at Hempfest, the Seattle Police Department will be giving away bags of chips. The chips will have stickers on them reminding Hempfest attendees that while it is legal to possess up to an ounce of marijuana, it is still illegal to grow or sell it. In line with the way Seattle police have been handling public cannabis smoking, officers will be reminding folks that they can be ticketed and asking them to stop rather than issuing tickets for smoking in public. Hats off to the Seattle PD; they’re embracing, rather than fighting, the legalization of marijuana.
