Edibles

Product Review: The Cannaseur Edibles, Source: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B791VuFCEAELF9L.jpgThe Cannasseur is a new California based business that caters to weedists. One of the best parts about attending an event like the Emerald Cup is the opportunity to check out these new startups. I was thrilled to be given samples of their edibles to review here, especially since this is their description:

“What makes one a Cannasseur? We enjoy nice things. We enjoy fine dining. We love beautifully intricate hand blown glass and other forms of art. Sparkles from the finest trichrome covered cannabis flowers excite us. The intoxicating scent fills our lungs with every deep breath. We sip on fine scotch and the boldest Bordeaux. We enjoy the luxury of the blondest, sandiest of hash. We travel to beautiful exotic places around the world, and gaze into deep space adoring the night sky. We enjoy clothing made from the finest hemps, silks and linens. We are The Cannasseurs, purveyors of the highest of cannabis lifestyles. Join us on our journey to seek out and curate these experiences and more, in the cannabis world and beyond.”

I knew I was in for a treat when I opened up the cheese straws just from the smell. Unlike many other edibles, these cheese straws did not smell like cannabis. The aroma was a delightful mix of rosemary, thyme and cheese, just as described. I ate all three of them, since they were small. I am no stranger to edibles, but I never knew the dosage, so I was a little nervous about a 200 mg dose. I worried for nothing; the dosage was perfect for me. These tasty tidbits had a nice, spicy bite and a delightful buzz. The effects were long-lasting, and I really noticed the pain relief the cheese straws provided.

The next day, I tried the Liege Waffle for breakfast. I had never heard of this kind of waffle, so I googled it to find out more. These waffles are hard to find, even in their native Belgium. They are made with yeast and topped with pearl sugar. Delicious as a side dish for your fried chicken or at breakfast with syrup, these waffles are great for dessert, too. Looking back, I wish I would have warmed it up and made it more special, but I ate it right out of the package.

Even with no extra embellishments, the waffle was delicious. The flavor and consistency reminded me of pan dulce, one of my all-time favorite treats. As with the cheese straws, the flavor was excellent, with no residual weed flavor. The effects were also comparable. I was pleasantly high and pain free without being locked onto my couch for a long time.

As medical and recreational cannabis use becomes more accepted across the country, I hope to see a lot more upscale cannabis outlets. The days of appealing just to pubescent stoner boys are over, and I am glad to see it. If you are in the Bay Area, you can find The Cannasseur at your local dispensary. If you don’t see them, ask for them. I can’t wait to see what The Cannasseur does next. They are the future of cannabis!
