Edibles Review: TLC Edibles BHO Infused Coffee/Caramel Truffles, Source: Diablo Dabs Seattle

Historically, I am not a medibles guy. I’m a big guy with an even bigger tolerance, so the thought of small doses via high calorie snacks has never done it for me. However, that all changed when I met Tim over at TLC Edibles. We were taking dabs together with the Northwest Oils crew, when he offered me a medicated truffle.

I proceeded with my canned answer, “Wow, thanks man, I really appreciate that, but medibles are lost on me. I smoke too much errl, hahaha!” His reply still makes me smile when I think on it, “Well, my truffles are infused with BHO. In fact, they’re infused with Northwest Oils.” You should’ve seen my face light up like a freakin’ Christmas tree. Medibles made with errl? Now that’s what’s up.

I immediately re-considered and ate two TLC Edibles BHO Infused Coffee Truffles (25mg each). Delicious! And I don’t mean that other delicious—you’ve all heard the “tastes pretty good for being medicated.” I mean this truffle was straight up tasty, medicated or not—good eats. The fact that it was medicated with BHO to boot is a slice of what’s still right about this world folks.

As with any other medible, absorption takes some time, so we got to talking, and that’s when he really caught my attention. As it turns out, Tim is a farmer, and he is a damn good one. He is known around the greater Seattle area for his Super Silver Haze. As it turns out, it was this very Haze that was about to my rock my world.

From seed to stomach, Tim is involved every step of the way thanks to his partnership with Northwest Oils. He grows it the way he likes it, then Kyle takes it and makes it the way he needs it; all errl should be like NW Oils. The name alone speaks volumes in terms of reputation and quality. Just by hearing the name NW Oils, I knew that not only was my truffle made with only the finest grade of oil to be had, it was also fully tested for safety by the Northwest Botanical Analysis. Closed loop extracted with lab grade n-tane, vac oven purged to perfection and fully tested, specifically for butane—that’s the only way we roll around here. Bear in mind, that Northwest Oils has built their brand around their unflinching standards for quality control. As my buddy Kyle put it so eloquently, “We only run fire here.”

About 25 minutes passed and let me tell you, it was fire alright—a 5-alarm fire. I felt fantastic, and I do not mean shit-faced/half-catatonic either. I was that great kinda stoned, that let’s keep walking around laughing and meeting people stoned—I love that! This tells me that the 25mg per edible dosage is spot on.

Few smoke like I do, so I had eaten two, but I never mind taking a little extra for the sake of tolerance. That being said, I would also be concerned if a single dose was way too strong for a layman (the last thing we need is even more bad press for BHO). I’ll say it again: this was anything but that. This was what a medible should be—all the convenience of eating your pot, but with smoother/purer high in BHO.

TLC Edibles can be found at Have a Heart Café and other leading dispensaries in the Seattle area. They offer a great variety of candies and baked goods all made with that gnarly errl.

If you are wondering where the great tastes come from, well that’s all Tim’s wife. She hand makes each and every TLC Edible that ships. Her recipes are a family secret and I don’t think she’s tellin’. No worries, I’d rather eat her cooking all day long!

Shout-outs to Tim of TLC Edibles and Kyle of Northwest Oils. They are two guys brought together by cancer in their families and a genuine desire to do something about it. These cats are two of the greatest advocates for patients I’ve ever met—couple of pretty chill dab heads too, god bless ‘em. #weedist
