CNN Money has been talking quite a bit about cannabis lately, a welcome change for Weedists everywhere and especially for those in the cannabis industry. This video features a Seattle cannabis collective that produces medical extracts, Washington Alternative Medicine. Unlike many producers of extracts, WAM uses no harsh solvents like alcohol or acetone. Only carbon dioxide is used to produce these top-quality oils. The extracted cannabinoids can be used directly, taken orally as is or in a cannabis pill, or they can be used to make salves, sprays, lotions or edibles.

One great thing about the extraction process is the fact that you don’t need top-quality bud to produce extracts. Using only the small, light, stringy buds from the bottom of plants (which aren’t very appealing to customers interested in purchasing the buds) top quality extracts can be produced at relatively low cost.
