See how happy he is?

It’s no secret that marijuana contains tar and other carcinogens. Smoking cannabis is the most unhealthy way of consuming it, and if you want to see so with your own eyes, put a napkin or paper towel firmly over your mouth when you exhale the smoke. You’ll see what I mean.

A long time ago a friend and I rolled all of the tobacco out of a cigarette and replaced it with finely ground weed to make a spliff. After we smoked it, the filter was almost black. It was pretty gross.

You can avoid this of course by using vaporizers, edibles, or tinctures, but in my experience there’s nothing quite like passing a bowl around between some friends. In order to counter the negative aspects of smoking marijuana, I started brushing my teeth after I smoke.

If you’ve exhaled into a napkin like I mentioned, you see how much tar and nasty stuff is in the smoke. We don’t want that stuff on our teeth, or in our saliva! This is why I recommend we all start brushing our teeth after smoke sessions.

Brushing after smoking may not always be possible, depending where you are, but getting a few more brushes in than normal will help. Remember to brush gently and from all angles. If you have mouthwash and floss available, even better, but there’s no need to be a fanatic unless you want to!

Happy toking!
