Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_HickenlooperOn Wednesday, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper publicly expressed his opposition to Amendment 64, proclaiming that the ballot measure for marijuana legalization would send a bad message to kids and give Colorado a bad name.

Hickenlooper’s statement follows a recent poll that revealed that  the majority of Colorado voters either supported or were undecided about the ballot measure.

Governor Hickenlooper’s stance was labeled as hypocritical by Amendment 64 proponent Mason Tvert, who blasted the Colorado Governor for his support and sale of alcohol as a previous tavern owner. “We certainly hope he is aware that alcohol actually kills people. Marijuana use does not.”
