An informant sent by police as an undercover investigator was caught red-handed planting crack in the business he was sent to investigate. The ‘investigator’ planted crack on the counter of a head shop in Scotia, New York, photographed it and police used the photo as evidence against the business owner. Charges against the business owner were obviously dismissed. Why police would think it was ok to use an informant to conduct actual police work is beyond me, I would think that would be illegal.
