My Favorite Strains: Wreckage, Source: Original Photography for Weedist.com by Phe HarphaWreckage comes from two of my favorite strains, that are also widely popular, Trainwreck and S.A.G.E. The later of the two is just now making a comeback in medical and recreational cannabis dispensaries in my area but has been a favorite of mine for years.

The name S.A.G.E. is an acronym which stands for “Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium.” This means that this particular parent strain of Wreckage is bred from a cross of a known Haze with the indica dominant Afghani strain; leaving her a sativa dominant hybrid or an indica that has been transformed into a sativa-like strain due to breeding (for ease of understanding).

Trainwreck, too, is a hybrid strain that leans towards sativa dominance due to her genetic lineage of Mexican sativa, Thai sativa and an Afghani indica. All together, this makes Wreckage a potent sativa hybrid. But in my opinion, she is different than most sativa hybrids or pure sativa strains, and I think this is because the S.A.G.E. genetics allow her indica nature to come through with a nice body buzz in conjunction with the potent cerebral nature of the Trainwreck high.

T.H. Seeds Wreckage

The flowers that Wreckage is comprised of are a silvery olive green with hints of yellow shining off from the bottom curves of the calyxes. Every surface is glazed with a covering of furry looking amber trichomes and pale brown or tan hairs.

Her smell is intoxicating. She smells sweet, like vanilla, floral notes, mints and sandalwood. Respectfully, it reminds me of my grandmother’s house full of potpourri and antiques. Her taste follows this scent profile, but leaves the sandalwood behind, until traces of sandalwood linger with the first few puffs.

As you take a flame to nice bowl of Wreckage, her sweetness turns into a creamy and earthy tasting richness — exhaling adds a mentholated or minty taste to the earthy background.

I’ve always found both of the Wreckage parents, Trainwreck and S.A.G.E., to be good for alleviating my muscle and joint pain, but their daughter Wreckage, has taken this relief to new heights. For the few days I enjoyed this beautiful flower alone, I found myself thinking less about my present pain, which was at a way lower level than normal.

I also found myself more active throughout the day, and taking less rest periods. My days were enjoyably active at that. I wasn’t wincing in pain or having muscle spasms. Instead I felt clear minded and pain free, and at the end of the day I felt accomplished and well-worked, not run down and totally out of energy.

Overall, if I come across this strain again, I would surely get more, and possibly turn some into an edible. Wreckage has a good dose of medicine that rejuvenated my mind and body alike, with the effect and quality I’m always looking for in my cannabis therapy.
