Product Review: CVault Storage and Curing Containers, Source: http://www.vaporreviewblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Whatever006.jpgThe CVault storage and curing container is a great choice for the weedist who is serious about storing their cannabis for freshness and quality. What sets the CVault apart is that, not only is it air-tight, but it also contains a “humidpak” designed to make the container act as a humidor.

By maintaining your product at an ideal and constant relative humidity means your product will not lose or gain any moisture. Instead, your product will be maintained at its ideal 62% moisture level throughout its intended lifespan.”

The container itself is stainless steel, which means it is very durable and allows no light to enter. Having used “air tight” plastic containers before, the difference in quality and sustainability is very clear — the CVault is a superior product. The thick silicon ring also proves to be a durable feature and ensures a truly air tight seal every time.

The container come in a variety of sizes, and there are two lines — personal and commercial. The ‘personal’ CVaults come in four sizes ranging from the smallest, which can hold 7-12 grams, to the largest, which can hold 3 to 3.5 ounces. The ‘commercial’ sizes range from the smallest holding 5-6 ounces and the largest holding 2 lbs. Thus, the CVault is suitable for the casual smoker, as well as the business owner — and everyone in between.

The containers are also reasonably priced. Though, the “humidpak” does need to be replaced periodically. The paks last anywhere from 60-90 days, and turn from a liquid state to a hard granule state when it is time to change them. Replacement paks cost between $1-3, depending on if it’s for personal or commercial CVaults, so replacing them is not expensive.

The CVault is also cat approved.

When asked how long the paks last, the company stated, “This actually has two answers: During our storage testing we found the Boveda Pak to last anywhere from 60 to 90 days, when used in conjunction with our CVault. For curing, we cannot define a specific timeline, however, we have seen the pak last for as little as a week to 60 days. The pak has to work harder to remove moisture than it does to put moisture in.”

They also state that they were able to store product in the CVault with no visible difference for up to two months, which is pretty impressive.

Personally, I have also found that the CVault is effective, to an extent, even without the humidpaks in them. The air-tight design alone is enough to preserve most of the freshness, though perhaps not the moisture.

Overall, the CVault is a superior storing and curing container that is a great choice for someone seeking quality, durability and a container that will keep cannabis fresh.
