Consumption

My Favorite Strains: Kushberry, Source: Original Photography by Phe HarphaI don’t think there’s a true cannabis connoisseur that doesn’t mind a nice, fruity flower once in a while, but don’t let this strain fool you… she surely can deliver a knock-out punch to those who aren’t used to the potency of her delight.

I’m talking about the beloved OG Kush x Blueberry cross of Kushberry (which is also commonly named Blueberry Kush, depending on the phenotypic traits and terpene/taste profile). The lineage of this cross leads it to be a heavy Indica strain; both parents are Indicas themselves. This can be identified by sight, smell, taste and effect, and, after medicating with Kushberry, it becomes pretty apparent to the consumer.

Upon first inspection, the sparkle of this flower’s buds will catch your eye from a mile away. The dense coverage of trichomes visibly outnumbers the red hairs, which appear to be smaller, thin and compact to the nugget itself. The aroma the Kushbery gives off as soon as I open my jar is that of a sharp, crisp, pungent sweetness. It is berry-like, though somewhat indistinguishable — maybe a blueberry with lemon. The earthy, slightly toasted notes of the OG run through the sweetness of the Blueberry, creating some scent disorientation. The taste follows suit; and I recommend using a clean pipe or enjoying Kushberry in rolled/joint form, to let these crisp notes ring. A previously used bowl can lead the earthy notes to overcome the more delicate fruity flavors.

Kushberry is characterized as a 100% Indica strain type, with THC levels averaging about 12-15%, in combination with other cannabinoids such as CBD (0.43%) and CBN (0.20%). This makes the effects of this sweet lady a hard-hitting cerebral euphoria, yet strong relaxation that is very enjoyable.

I decided to medicate with this, as I was experiencing some hard-hitting pain in my arms from my rheumatoid arthritis… and now, about 5 hours later, I’m still feeling the pain relieving qualities of this medicinal herb.

After speaking to some other consumers of this strain, I have come to the conclusion that Kushberry is perfect for the medicinal user who is experiencing muscle, nerve, or joint pain, insomnia/restlessness, loss of appetite (I’m most definitely ready for dinner time, who ever said that on pain medication?), or in need of stress relief. Even though there are strong effects, I do not see any of them negatively affecting me socially or in activity load/speed. However, having some previous experience with Kushberry in concentrated form, I would keep it for home use and enjoyment.
