Black Russian has some big nugs and super sweet smell

Prior to working in the medical marijuana industry (now just retail marijuana in Colorado), I was pretty much a strictly sativa smoker. I enjoy the up head high associated with most sativa strains and always stayed away from indica varieties because they often would make me sleepy, which I always thought was a bad thing.

However, a few years of experience looking at all kinds of great buds and helping people who have many different kinds of needs has taught me that good bud is good bud. Period. I’ve also come to realize that the entire “indica/sativa” thing is just a spectrum. There are some sativa strains that are so heady that you can’t really function, and there are other indica strains that don’t make you pass out immediately, but rather act as a great pain reliever.

I’m glad that I didn’t pass up Black Russian, a heavy indica with a wealth of great effects and a consistently great taste and look.

There have been several batches of Black Russian that I’ve seen around Denver medical marijuana dispensaries that have caught my eye. It’s always got a nice sweet smell with some of those trademark dark purple hairs along with green and red. A cross of the heavy White Russian and even heavier indica dominant hybrid Black Domina, Black Russian is no joke.

Typically pretty high in THC, she packs a serious body high that is good for sleep and really bad for operating any kind of heavy machinery. I’ve found it very relaxing and with a wonderful taste.

If you see Black Russian at your local medical marijuana dispensary (or, if you’re going to be in Colorado or very soon Washington, at a retail marijuana store) then definitely do not hesitate to pick up at least a gram.
