Colorado Dispensary Honors CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta With New Strain, Joint Specials, Source: http://api.ning.com/files/8KGb8vxx0YnAjGA61QFAz7H0zZ*ORbv7iuneNfA9dSkkRCXw18-tg7GomIAhsOBooh07rJwZzfikOJMKfylSKigPayxeEfD*/sanjayguptacnnwrongaboutmarijuanaweedhbtvhempbeachtv1024x576.jpgLast year, the Boulder-based dispensary Helping Hands Herbals named a strain of weed in honor of CNN’s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, after the high profile physician reversed his position on medical weed and outlined its benefits in a widely received documentary. The brand was called the “Gupta Kush” and although the news network phoned the dispensary and asked them to stop selling it, they never pressed the issue any further.

Now that CNN has released a follow up aptly entitled “Weed 2: Cannabis Madness,” the purveyors of exquisite chronic are once again branding a new organic strain in homage to Dr. Gupta. Introducing the “Double Down Kush.” According to the press release, it’s very therapeutic:

A small dose provides near-instant relaxation and pain relief. It also has an almost narcotic-like effect on the mind that eases anxiety and generates a state of peace and equipoise that’s ideal for healing.

And it’s currently on sale!

“We’re selling a full pound of Double Down in joint form only right now – for just 2 cents a joint, while supplies last,” the dispensary tells us in an email. “That’s about 650 joints.”
