Stop CPS Free the Babies Nov 12th 2013, Source: Moms For Marijuana https://www.facebook.com/events/206479219523728/Cannabis activists are planning Stop CPS: Free the Babies International Day of Action for November 12th, 2013. The event is being coordinated by Moms for Marijuana, a group dedicated to spurring cannabis awareness, education, and discussion. The international day of action is aimed at raising awareness about the on-going war Child Protective Services is raging against families.

Even in states like Washington where the medical marijuana laws were implemented with specific provisions to protect the parental rights of patients, CPS claims the authority to tear apart families based on the “immediate harm,” possible from having marijuana in the house.

In some cases, parents went to great length to keep all marijuana and related paraphernalia in areas inaccessible by their children – like a locked basement – and even though the children had no THC in their bloodstream, CPS claimed that having marijuana in the house increased the probability of a robbery and, therefore, provides just cause for putting children in protective custody.

On November 12th, 2013, Lilly Fisher’s case will be reviewed by a Superior Court Judge. In order to gain international attention on this on-going front of the war on drugs, the cannabis community is organizing events all over. Currently, events are planned in:
