Edibles

Edibles Review: The Growing Kitchen Zoom Ball, Source: Prospero WeedistEdibles from a medical marijuana dispensary can often be overwhelming to the un-seasoned Weedist. Even the most experienced smoker can often find themselves in over their head when deciding what the best dosage edible can be for them. With so many different kinds of medicated treats to choose from when shopping, it can be understandably hard to figure out which is the best for you and your needs.

I’ve written a few edible guidelines (here’s one), and some of my favorite edibles are the ones that actually specify “indica” vs “sativa”, which definitely makes it easier to figure out how the effect will hit you.

One of the best edible makers in the Colorado medical marijuana industry is The Growing Kitchen. Based in Boulder, these guys make great edibles and concentrates, with many different kinds of edibles for different patients.

I recently got to try their “Zoom Ball” and was definitely satisfied by the effect.

Loaded with B vitamins, spirulina, and 100 mg of THC, the Zoom Ball is also is made with organic, gluten free, sugar free, wheat free, and vegan ingredients. The Growing Kitchen’s website lists all of their product’s health and dietary information, which makes it very helpful for medical marijuana patients who have dietary restrictions.

The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the taste, which was pretty earthy and not particularly pleasant. Luckily, I was able to down it in just a few bites.

What the Zoom Ball lacks in flavor, it makes up for in the punch. The effect was very up and energetic; I ate the entire thing before a concert and was feeling really great and alert the entire show, without much of the come down that often accompanies some other sativa edibles.

They also make the “Go-Chi Ball”, which is the indica version of the same edible. Those patients in Colorado should definitely check this out, and other edibles from The Growing Kitchen next time they see them at their local medical marijuana dispensary.
