Great TV While High: House of Cards

The Netflix binger/pot head demographic is growing in rapid numbers and no one is prouder than this blogger. All my devices rock Netflix and I rock Netflix all the time; for someone who was a film analysis major in college, it’s a no brainer.

You can imagine my excitement when they introduced original content with Hollywood production value to Netflix. In the case of House of Cards, I should re-state that and say HBO production value.

If you haven’t seen House of Cards yet, you have probably at least heard of it like I did, because Kevin Spacey was involved. It was not at the top of my queue, but it was there and I was stoned. On this particular evening I was operating on 3 dabs of Alien Dawg pulled from my gnarly new Cloud vape pen.

I gotta tell ya, House of Cards sank its hooks into me halfway through episode 1. Corrupt Washington is so en-vogue right now, whether we’re laughing, loathing or both. Mind you, this show is no comedy like HBO’s new show VEEP. Only its sharp wit serves as comic relief from its very real and very controversial world.

Spacey smoothly embodies the role of a corrupt majority House whip. Stoner translation- a HEAVY hitter on Capitol Hill who proves himself daily as the greatest snake in the grass either side has ever seen. This show has everything your baked noodle craves, and it really gets it all right. Sex, Drugs, Lies… you name a vice and its present, name a moral and it’s scoffed at- I couldn’t turn it off!
