Edibles

cannabis tea; source: dacanomeds.comI love tea. So I decided to try another edible: Healthy Creation Edibles’ Vanilla Chai Cannabis Infused Hybrid Tea. With 100 mg of active cannabinoids, it was priced at $6.95.

A small company based in Denver, Healthy Creation Edibles opened in 2009. Their goal is to “heal our communities through the body and soul.” They claim that their refined hash oil makes them stand out among all other edibles.

When I took the tea bag out of the package, it immediately reminded me of one of those smokeless tobacco pouches that had been in someone’s mouth for a while. It looked pretty gross, and it was rather sticky with a brown residue. I threw caution to the wind and poured boiling hot water over it. Immediately, I saw dark particles floating around in the water. Great, I thought, don’t tell me there’s a hole in the bag! That would suck if I was using regular ‘ol Lipton, let alone a seven-dollar cannabis tea bag.

The directions for the tea advised to steep the teabag for 20 minutes in boiling water. I could smell the medicine in the darkened water which was now lukewarm after 20 minutes. The pouch recommended adding milk to the chai tea, so I used a little half-and-half and sugar. When I tasted it, I was immediately disappointed. There seemed to be no chai spices or vanilla flavor present. It resembled warm cannabis water with random dark particles floating on top. I chugged the tea quickly since it was obvious that I would not be able to enjoy it by sipping it.

Then I sat back and waited for the effects. About forty-five minutes later, I realized that my neck pain was gone. I also felt suprisingly energetic and clear-headed. About two hours later, I was ready for a nap, which confirmed that the tea provided true sativa and indica effects.

All in all, I was very satisfied with the effects of Healthy Creation Vanilla Chai Herbal Tea. It just would have been nice if it tasted like vanilla and chai.
