Hybrid MMJ

Hybrids can be confusing. Initially, I stayed away from most hybrid medical marijuana strains because I did not understand how to medicate with them. Referring to hybrids as “daytime” medication seemed rather stretched since they tended to make me sleepy. I realized that the key to medicating with hybrids is choosing the right combination of sativa and indica qualities that is right for you, and this requires experimentation.

Hybrid strains are genetically man-made, and they involve the cross-pollination of two or more different sativa and indica strains. One of the strains used to create the hybrid is usually dominant. The resulting strain’s appearance and effects will usually assume the dominant characteristics. The creation of hybrid strains allows growers to select strains that will create their desired personalized effects.

You can start your day by medicating with a hybrid, but a sativa-dominant strain is highly recommended.  The last thing you probably want is a lethargic full body buzz when you have a day full of work ahead of you. If you suffer from arthritis, fibromyalgia, or other conditions that involve body pain and discomfort, hybrids are excellent because they provide pain relief as well as an uplifting head high.

Some great hybrid strains that give energetic pain relief without making you sleepy are Blue Dream, Headband, Sour Kush, and Golden Goat. Experiment with hybrid strains to find out what works best for you. Hybrids can be a great part of your daily medication routine when you find a strain that gives you the right balance of sativa and indica qualities.
