William Richard Black

USPS inspectors in conjunction with Texas’ Williamson County Sheriff’s Office arrested William Richard Black after he accepted delivery of marijuana from California. Black said he paid $2,000 for it and intended to resell it for profit. KXAN.com provides additional details on the undercover operation.

Ordering $2,000 worth of marijuana via the United States Postal Service is plain stupid. Ordering it to your house where you also have weighing scales and admitting you intended to resell for a profit is an even higher level of stupidity. Under the present law of the land, you’re begging to be incarcerated.

However, Black still makes it into our Needless Victims category as the war on drugs has utterly failed, prohibition needs to end, and this shouldn’t be a crime. I still dream that marijuana legalization can save the USPS from extinction!
