Number of Colorado Medical Marijuana Patients Up in May

Colorado has 98,910 registered medical marijuana patients as of May 31, 2012, according to the latest report from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

This is an increase from the 82,089 Colorado medical marijuana patients as of December 31, 2011, but still significantly lower than the 116,198 patients as of December 31, 2010.

• Sixty-eight percent of approved applicants are male.
• The average age of all patients is 42.
• Currently 53 of the 98, 910 patients are minors (under the age of 18).
• More than 900 different physicians have signed for patients in Colorado.
• Fifty-six percent of patients reside in the Denver-metro area (Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas & Jefferson counties)
