Weed Lifestyle

http://www.flickr.com/photos/kumasawa/3215047149/in/photostream/A few of us ventured out for a hike today overlooking San Francisco. I had my music set to some old live Dave Matthews at Red Rocks. We also decided to take along some of our favorite daytime combustion weed along: Blue Dream.  A nice light high hybrid, a cross between Blueberry (Indica dominant hybrid) and Haze (a pure Sativa), Blue Dream offers a great balanced high for your daytime adventures. As a sidebar, this is also great strain for folks that have tried cannabis before, but claim to not like the experience because it makes them sleepy. Clearly those folks have only tried Indicas.

Actually, the “I don’t smoke weed because it makes me sleepy” response is pretty common from people that buy weed from their friendly neighborhood drug dealer. Dealers usually push Indicas for pure economics reasons, Indicas grow & mature faster than Sativas, so if you are in the black-market business of churning out marijuana to a customer without a discerning palate (they’ll take any weed they can get), then you grow what you can turn fastest…Indica. Inidcas have the added bonus of delivering a solid body-high (typically leading to a nice form of couch-lock). So at the end of the day, everyone wins, the dealer/grower supply chain can turn more weed and the customer gets a strong physical experience. Unfortunately this has led to many casual marijuana samplers to identify weed with the slowed down Indica feeling (hence people stereotyping pot as a loser lazy drug).

We can thank the advent of medical marijuana movement for bringing the selection and difhttp://www.typesofweed.com/photos/dream-weed-1024x495.jpgferentiation to the forefront and now we can demand our Sativas and specialized Hybrids. On the rare occasion in the 90s in NYC we had the opportunity to sample some really fine Sativas and Hybrids, but now living in California and having a medical condition that allows us to sample a huge variety of cannabis, we’re all much happier as a result.

What are your favorite strains of weed to use while being active outdoors?
