Ganja Claus Spreading Holiday Cheer Arrested for Gifting Pot

A man calling himself Santa Claus was recently arrested  in Seaside, CA for the most awesome crime ever — giving out weed. 57-year-old Randy Lange was arrested for packaging and handing out cannabis to customers and staff at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Seaside on Monday.

Police received a call just after 4pm tipping them off to Lange’s activities, who was allegedly packaging cannabis by wrapping it in napkins and giving it out to patrons and workers in the restaurant. According to police, during the “incident,” Lange approached people saying that he was Santa Claus and had a gift for them. The gift of ganja, an excellent way to spread holiday cheer, even if the holiday season might be over.

Lange also gave out a napkin with a brimful amount of pot to one employee of the restaurant and left a handsome tip of a large quantity of cannabis in the tip jar. (Am I the only one who would be thrilled to receive such a tip?) When searched, police found over two pounds of pre-packaged cannabis among Lange’s belongings. Unfortunately, Lange was arrested for “furnishing marijuana” by the Grinch-y police. If only we lived in a world where this man’s jolly actions would be met with the appropriate response of gratitude, instead of facing legal repercussions.
