pot coin

Bitcoins, Bitcoins, Bitcoins… Ya know the anonymous drug money for nerds, backed by the asshole twins that screwed Zuckerberg. Cryptocurrency, or the idea of paying for things anonymously with an all digital currency seems here to stay, despite devastating recent losses and setbacks in public opinion.

It was only a matter of time before the concept got swept up in the Green Rush. Introducing Potcoin, Bitcoin for weed it’s that cut and dry (punny.), TechCrunch says “The Potcoin team is defying conventional banks, money laundering authorities, and the DEA in order to build out a safer way for marijuana dispensaries to deal with daily transactions.”

There is a lot of awesome right now in the world of cannabis. However, the only certainty still seems to be uncertainty. For example, banking is still an absolute nightmare. Dispensaries want to do business by the books, but the Feds won’t here of it. More importantly, they want to minimize the copious amounts of cash they handle for safety and security. Potcoin certainly seems like a sensible solution.

However, as an anonymous transaction, the question up for debate is whether the anonymity of Potcoin helps or hurts the movement. What do you think?
