Edibles

Product Review: Keef Cola - Hashish Blend Medicinal Tonic, Source: http://www.keefcola.com/Personally, I’m a fan of cannabis medicated beverages. They are probably one of my favorite ways to medicate with edibles, as I feel the effect of the product is more potent compared to other edible products, such as baked goods and candies.

Keef Cola is one of the first cannabis infused beverage products that was offered in Colorado years ago, and set the bar high for other companies to follow. Now that I have found them again, I chose their products over others for various reasons. One being that they use CO2 extracted cannabis hash oil in their products, and secondly, no high fructose corn syrup. Additionally, they contain 100 mg of activated THC per 12 oz. And all this cost only $12 at my local medical dispensary. Personally the only thing I disagree with are some of the ingredients, brominated soy bean oil, and all of the added colors —  but real sugar is always a plus in the beverage market.Product Review: Keef Cola - Hashish Blend Medicinal Tonic, Source: https://www.facebook.com/233092792309/photos/pb.233092792309.-2207520000.1420501927./10151249330227310/?type=3&theaterKeef Cola offers five different flavors of sodas to choose from: Blue Dream, Cherry Bomb, Bubba Kush Root Beer, Orange Kush, and Flo energy, which is their own cannabis infused energy drink. I also found the Lemon Lime Haze soda (which is not listed on their website any longer).

I decided to try the Orange Kush and the Lemon Lime Haze sodas, since one is considered more of an Indica based product, and the other a Sativa. As you can guess, the Orange Kush is the Indica laced beverage, made of the hybrid strain cross of Orange Bud and OG Kush by Green Devil Genetics. Keef Cola describes its effect as an “intense and relaxing sensation that begins in the head and moves into the body.”

Product Review: Keef Cola - Hashish Blend Medicinal Tonic, Source: http://tripstapix.com/travel/instagram/orangekushThe taste is true to orange soda with a subtle but tastey hint of the hash on the back end, but as a “dry soda” lover, this soda is great if you don’t like overly sweet beverages, such as another cannabis infused drink brand competitor, “Dixie Elixirs” or  “marQaha” drinks. It has a light carbonation that tickles the nose, and is more refreshing and clean tasting than I remember.

I drank about half of the bottle, equivalent to 50 mg according to the packaging, and can say I felt the effects within minutes of ingesting (note: it’s been a few hours since I last ate a small snack). The effect is definitely a strong cerebral stoney feeling that left me feeling relaxed and carefree after a long, busy Monday. It also led me into an uplifted, almost giggly effect for the first hour or so, then I relaxed into my couch for a movie marathon.

Overall, I’d highly recommend Keef Cola soda drinks to everyone who wants a different form of medication that is potent, strain specific and made with real sugar. I also agree that the Keef Cola mission statement of “put a smile on every patient’s face” has been greatly achieved, like it was in years past, and to the present day of the newer product line.

Can't wait for broader legalization. To some of us on the Eastern Seaboard, it still seems like years, maybe decades, away. Do us all a favor please, when you take that next cool drink, send happy thoughts our way...
