Who could resist a garden gnome pipe or chillum? I would suggest pulling out one of these pieces when your friends are good and baked, or even better, have the gnome sitting somewhere to watch you session and then point out the voyeur to the group. This is guaranteed to get a laugh!

Garden Gnome Pipe & Chillum

These garden gnome pieces comes to us from the Etsy shop: XylieGlass We have covered XylieGlass before in our Piece of the Week on Owl Pipes.

A bit about XylieGlass in their own words:

We are glass artists and musicians! : ) Check out our website at www.officialxylie.com – indie folk rock jam band. Pre order our album today!

Thank you for supporting us artists directly on Etsy! Every purchase you make is a donation which goes straight to support us artists and purchase the materials to create our art and go on tour! We are not a big corporation or a company, we are human beings who love to make music and glass art!

The glass artform is a very very precise and difficult skill to study. It takes a lot of effort and time to learn this skill as well as make each piece! Thank you for your appreciation and let us know if you like any pieces that you want modified too!

Garden Gnome Origins

No, garden gnomes were not invented by Travelocity. In fact, Garden Gnomes come to us from 19th century Germany. Wikipedia has this to say:

A garden gnome, or lawn gnome, is a figurine of a small humanoid creature, usually wearing a pointy hat, produced for the purpose of ornamentation on front lawns or in gardens. These figurines originated in 19th-century Germany, where they became known asGartenzwerg (garden dwarf). The application of the term gnome in English is first attested in the 1930s. – Wikipedia: Garden Gnome
