Dessert, yields 12-15 bars

Here’s What You Need:

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies dry cereal
  • 6 cups mini-marshmallows
  • ¼ cup cannabis-infused butter
  • 1 tablespoon (3 teaspoons) organic pure vanilla extract
  • Food-dye (red and blue)
  • 9×9 baking dish (a 13×9 pan would works, but creates thinner treats)
  • non-stick baking spray

How to Make Patriotic Marshmallow Ganja Treats

To begin, grease a 9×9 baking dish with non-stick baking/cooking spray.

Next, divide your ingredients into three smaller batches (2 cups of cereal : 2 cups of marshmallows : 1 tablespoon butter : 1 teaspoon vanilla extract). One batch will be dedicated to each color (plain/white, red, blue).

Melt a little more than 1 tablespoon of cannabis-infused butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Once melted, add in 2 cups of marshmallows, stirring until both ingredients are fully incorporated. Remove your pan from the heat.

Next, add in a few drops of blue food coloring to the buttery, marshmallow goo, stirring to combine. Feel free to add more food-dye until one’s desired hue of blue is achieved.

Proceed to pour 2 cups of the dry cereal into the blue-batch of marshmallow goo, stirring well to combine the two. This batch will be called the blue-batch. Pour the blue-batch into a bowl and set to the side for now.

Repeat the above steps for the red-batch, and the last batch that will remain plain/food-dye free, which will play the role of “white” in this “red, white and blue” themed dish.

Once all the batches have been made, it is time to assemble the treats, starting with the blue-batch. Pour the blue-batch into your greased baking dish and gently press with your hands to create a smooth layer. Each layer should be roughly an inch tall within the baking dish.

Next, pour your plain-batch on top of the blue layer and press gently around its surface to create the middle layer of the soon-to-be striped treats.

Finally, pour the red-batch on top of the rice krispies and gently press around to create an even, top layer. You can view your treats from the side of your glass dish to ensure all of the layers look even and that they are firmly pressed together (if that sort of thing matters to you).

Allow the treats to completely cool and set before serving.

Cut the treats into bars and enjoy!
