Massroots: Apple Now Allowing Cannabis Friendly Apps, Source: http://cdn.macrumors.com/article-new/2015/02/massroots-e1423799868465.jpg?retinaApple is always seeking to lead the advancement of technology into modernization and the future. Now they have updated their company once again giving the ‘okay’ for weed as it becomes more and more incorporated into common culture.

Apple has approved cannabis related apps for use with their products, provided that the apps are used by those who live within the state boundaries of one of the 23 states where cannabis is legal in some form.

Massroots, a platform for “discovering cannabis,” has been allowed re-entry into the Apple App Store under a pending location check that would prevent those in states where cannabis is illegal from accessing the app. The app will use a geolocation check to make sure users outside of legal states are barred from using the platform.

“We’d like to thank the App Store for embracing the cannabis community and continuing to set an example as a socially-progressive institution,” Massroots wrote in a blog post celebrating their newly approved partnership with Apple. “We are excited to begin a new chapter with Apple in which we can work together to affect meaningful societal change.”

Massroots appears to take this new development quite seriously. They view their position as a cannabis app to be a call to spread weed acceptance in U.S. society.

“A tremendous amount of responsibility has just been placed on MassRoots; we have a duty to show the world that cannabis consumption can be done in a safe and responsible manner in compliance with state laws and federal enforcement guidelines,” Massroots wrote. “We do not take this task lightly. Over the coming weeks, we will be implementing new features to strengthen our compliance even beyond what is currently required. To our users, supporters, investors, advertisers, and Apple: thank you. We will not let you down.”
