CBD Oil Producer Awaits Georgia Lawmakers Decision

A Colorado cannabis oil manufacturer has already committed to shipping her goods to Georgia, if Georgia lawmakers ever decide to legalize CBD oil for seizure treatment.

There is a bill before them that would do just that, but they seem content to dither about it. Meanwhile, people (and children) are suffering and dying while they masticate on the morality of cannabis and the giant portal to a destroyed society they fear comes with allowing MMJ.

The really cool part? The person who is manufacturing cannabis oil and is willing to ship to Georgia is none other than Paige Figi. You may remember Ms. Figi as the mother of Charlotte Figi, an unwitting figurehead of the pro-cannabis movement. Charlotte was one of the first publicly known children to have success with CBD oil in treating her crippling epilepsy.

Prior to getting the CBD oil, Charlotte (a toddler) was basically living in hospice care, suffering 50 or more seizures a day. With CBD oil, Charlotte can go days without an episode and they are much less severe and short lived. It literally saved her life. The non-psychoactive strain of cannabis called Charlotte’s Web is named after her.

The Figi’s, Charlotte in particular, were a featured family in CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s landmark special on medical marijuana. In fact, young Charlotte was a large part of the reason Dr. Gupta changed his mind and began supporting the cannabis movement.

Georgia state representative Allen Peak, sponsor of the bill, commented, “There’s a lot of concern, I get that. But we believe we’ve taken the safeguard we need and put them in place to make sure we do have access in a safe environment. This is huge news that we hope there will be more manufacturers who will take the risk and move for medical ward, so other citizens can have access to this cannabis oil.”

I can’t think of a better spokesperson for this specific facet of medical marijuana than Paige Figi. CBD oil is the lone reason her daughter has anything resembling a happy life.
