Edibles

Product Review: Wana Hot Cocoa, Source: Original Photography by Phe Harpha‘Tis the season for warm, chocolaty treats and beverages. This Wana brand (mother brand of Mountain High Edibles and Colorado Concentrates) hot cocoa is delightfully satisfying to my taste buds, mind and body alike.

I’m personally a big fan of cannabis infused beverages, as I feel they give me the desired effect and quality potency I am looking for in my edibles. Also, Wana uses food grade alcohol extracts in their products, which differ from some using CO2 concentrate or BHO (butane extract), both of which I try to steer clear from in edible form.

Wana is a great brand who use quality materials in their various goods. This cocoa is a prime example of that. It tastes better than what the grocery store has to offer and is made with real Dutch cocoa. This package also contains a total 200 mg of activated THC, meaning, it is ready to do its job as you drink and enjoy.

Please note though, as the package states, the standardized serving for this product and other cannabis products is 10 mg of active THC. This entire package, costing $20 + tax is one of the better deals on the market. So this 2 oz. package really has 20 servings inside, but each cup would be the size of a cup of espresso. For me, being versed in edibles and using frequently, I split the package into 3 servings, totaling about 67.0 mg of activated THC in my mug (I’ve found this is a good dose for me if I’ve not recently medicated).

After a few sips, the chocolate flavor is strong but nice and creamy, I used vanilla almond milk for mine, though water or plain milk would be just as enjoyable. The taste of hash concentrate is not overpowering, but present. Though after I drank this cup, I believe it could have been split 4 ways instead of 3. The feeling is quite nice, but it may be a little much for some. As recommended, start small with edibles and know your limits.

As I finish off the last drops, I feel an uplifted emotional state. It seems good for a holiday get together with friends for those who don’t indulge in alcoholic beverages. However, too much of a buzz could keep me on the couch watching “Elf” for the tenth time too. Next cup I enjoy I may downgrade the size of this cocoa, as it would pair nicely with other edibles on the market such as a cookie, brownie or even a granola snack. But after a long cold day, or a stressful day at the job, Wana Hot Cocoa is a nice pick me up for weedists, chocolate lovers and edible fanatics equally.
