My Favorite Strains: Bling Black Cherry Soda - Weedist | Source: WeedistWant a good, fruity tasting but hard hitting strain to enjoy? Look no further than Bling Black Cherry Soda. As the name implies, it is a balanced hybrid strain consisting of the crossing of Bling and Black Cherry Soda strains, and since this phenotype fits the parent plant’s names, they stuck.

The nuggets are covered with a soft mist of trichomes, giving it that “bling” or flashy appearance, with delicate pistils (hairs) wrapping around the outside, which also act as collectors of the trichomes that dislodge themselves from the flower. The buds themselves are beautiful in color, showing a nice healthy range of greens, with polka dots of deep purple strewn throughout. This purple color is a characteristic of the Black Cherry Soda strain, and also how it gets a piece of its name. But this can be mostly experienced by the smell; the key location where you can really tell the lineage of this strain.

With the first ‘POP’ of my medicine container, I can smell the cherry fruitiness. This awakens my senses and sort of makes my mouth water too. This smell reminds me of a fresh cracked can of “Cherry Dr. Pepper” soda, and makes me eager to taste this flower. I tried to push away any preconceived notions of what I should expect from this strain taste-wise, but then realized, this strain tastes exactly how it smells, with a few additional flavors and aromas to its scent profile.

The first taste is fruity, but more of a tropical note than a berry note in my opinion. Though after a little char on the flower, a musty berry note does eventually present itself. At this point in my smoke session I get a hint of a zesty note, like the tickling of your nose from a cola, along with that indescribable cola taste. But that’s not all, as I taste it more and more, I can conclude there is definitely an earthy note in there somewhere, though unclear from where. Possibly from the more pungent profile of the Bling strain?

The effects of Bling Black Cherry Soda are very desirable. It is 2pm on a Saturday as I write this after consuming, and I can say that I neither feel “too up” or “too down.” Neither too energized or too lethargic. It is a strain that is good for alleviation of mental and physical ailments. Both emotional uplifting and pain relieving qualities are offered. I do feel however there is a potency to this strain, but based on some previous experiences with other Bling strains and crosses, it can be hit or miss when it comes to her strength.

Overall, I feel the breeder and grower did a great job in creating this flower. It has everything a weedist looks for  bag appeal, smell, taste and an effect that keeps you wanting more.
