My Favorite Strains: King Louie, Source: http://fadedfools.com/category/high-resolution-photo/King Louie just happened to make its way into my life out of chance, and as spontaneous occurrences often do, this one turned out for the better.

I had some friends coming from out of town that wanted to catch up over a bowl, so I texted a friend who told me he had some ‘bomb’ blue dream and sour diesel that would be ready to go that evening. It was not to be however, as when I arrived at his place that evening there wasn’t a nug of blue dream or sour diesel to be found. My friend had a delivery driver from Los Angeles coming to meet us at his apartment, but apparently he had only brought one strain with him. When he arrived I watched in splendor as he pulled out two enormous glass jars from his backpack full of what I would later come to affectionately refer to as King Louie.

“Here smell this,” our delivery man said offering me the jar. My head was sent spinning, as I took a very potent whiff of the sweet piney aroma. Just smelling these buds had me feeling like I had already taken a hit. We put some herb in a grinder and proceeded to smoke a bowl in my friends ice bong. By the time the bong had made it’s way back to me a 3rd time I was already soaring.

King Louie is an indica heavy hybrid, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get the full effect of its sativa component. The ‘heady’ high of King Louie sets in pretty quickly, so you might want to plan your trip ahead of time with some music or a TV show ready to go, because otherwise you may end up zoned out in the blissful haze. After the head high subsides, this strain delivers a great, full body, relaxing high and makes falling asleep incredibly easy, perfect for weedists who medicate for insomnia.

After that evening it took me some serious contemplation and reflection on the previous night just to realize how high I had actually been. This was one of the strongest batches of herb I had ever had the pleasure of sampling. King Louie had me contemplating the existence of iconic deities while staring at my friend’s Kali rug and stumbling around trying to keep my balance when I attempted walking in a state I can only refer to as ‘weed drunk.’ If you’re ever in California, be sure to keep your eyes out for this knock out strain. You will not be disappointed.
