Nestdrop Develops Medical Cannabis Delivery App, Source: http://coed.com/2014/10/19/new-app-called-nestdrop-will-deliver-marijuana-right-to-your-door/Technology is constantly evolving and changing the ways in which we live, and now thanks to an innovative company, it can help you get some weed too. California-based company Nestdrop, has released a new app for smartphones which allows users to order medial cannabis and have it delivered to them.

NestDrop started up at the beginning of this year as a smartphone app delivery service for alcohol, and now they’re including cannabis delivery in their services as well, so long as you have a medical card.

“We’re entrepreneurs, and we saw a need in the market, and we decided to fill that need,” said Roddy Rodnia, one of the companies co-founders. “We want to make it more convenient for the people who are dealing with certain types of ailments, and we want to make it easier for them to be able to get their medication without having to make an awkward trip out to the store.” This delivery service changes how people can legally purchase cannabis in California, thanks to NestDrop founders, who work completely within the legal framework of cannabis law.

“We’re happy to say that we’re the first app to do this,” co-founder Michael Pycher said. “There’s no way to screw around with the law here, so you have to do everything that we normally would, we’re just giving you a new platform to do it. So, you have to have your state-issued photo ID, your medical marijuana card, and your doctor’s recommendation.”

To use the app, customers have to upload a photo of their ID and their medical cannabis card or doctors note. Then within an hour, a delivery driver brings customers their order after checking their ID again in person. Delivery drivers for the company all hold their own medical cannabis cards, so they are legally able to transport the purchase. The App works by partnering with local dispensaries that the weed is purchased from, so the company does not sell any cannabis itself, they are just the convenient distributor.

Thanks to this company, medical cannabis patients who have chronic pain or mobility issues will have a convenient way to obtain their medicine without ever needing to leave their home. For now, the NestDrop delivery service is only available in parts of Los Angeles, but the company plans to expand their operation as word spreads of the app and demand increases.
