Former Governor Gary Johnson Says Cannabis can Cure Ebola, Source: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/10/11/let-gary-johnson-debate/Former New Mexico governor, and previous presidential candidate, Gary Johnson, has made headlines after an interview in which he made comments suggesting that cannabis may be a cure for Ebola. Watch below:

In the Fox News report, anchor Stuart Varney asked Johnson how he felt about how the U.S. government is dealing with the Ebola crisis. “We actually believe we have efficacy with regard to treating Ebola,” Johnson responded to the surprise of Varney.

“You want to make it easier for people to use cannabis and apply it to Ebola… not as a cure, ” Stuart Verney responded seeking clarification.

“No, potentially as an actual cure,” Johnson replied. He then went on to say that in the worst cases, trying cannabis as a cure is a “no lose” situation.

Johnson later denied suggesting cannabis as an Ebola cure in a telephone interview with KRQE News saying, “No one is making this claim, there are those that would love to have the opportunity to provide this as potentially a game changer.” Continuing his defense against Varney’s comments he said, “I am not a snake oil salesman. I’m not. You know, I’m the former governor of New Mexico. I’m not going to sell snake oil.”

Johnson is the president and CEO of his new company Cannabis Sativa Inc., which sells recreational and medicinal cannabis products. Some speculate Johnson may be trying to bolster his new business in light of the recent Ebola scare. Whatever Johnson’s motives he definitely made the headlines this week with his comments. There is still no conclusive research into the efficacy of cannabis as a cure for the Ebola virus.
