Can Positive Thinking Lead to Legalization?, Source: http://www.injurylawyerinottawa.ca/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Law-of-Attraction.jpgBear with me, if you will. As a disclaimer, I want to point out right now that what follows is kind of a trip to get your head around (unless you already know about it).

The idea of thoughts creating our reality is not a particularly new one. The realm of pseudo-science has dabbled with this concept for ages. Things like The Secret and the Law of Attraction are just a few of the more well-known cultural instances dealing with this idea. I’m no physicist, just an armchair science enthusiast. In that vein, I don’t want to come off like I’m shitting all over pseudo-science. I only mentioned it because things like the Law of Attraction and manifesting your own reality lack the consensual support of the scientific community, but it does not make it outright bullshit, either.

I read a fascinating article claiming proof that our bodies are a projection of our consciousness. I’ll let you read it for yourselves and determine how much, if any, rings true for you.

From the article:

“One of the key principles of quantum physics is that our thoughts determine reality. Early in the 1900′s they proved this beyond a shadow of a doubt with an experiment called the double slit experiment. They found that the determining factor of the behavior of energy (‘particles’) at the quantum level is the awareness of the observer. For example: electrons under the same conditions would sometimes act like particles, and then at other times they would switch to acting like waves (formless energy), because it was completely dependent on what the observer expected was going to happen. Whatever the observed believed would occur is what the quantum field did.”

This experiment dealt with single particles, but the results were astounding. The expectation of the observer literally dictated the behavior of the particle. Extrapolate that out, knowing that every cell in our bodies, every atom in the universe, is made from a locus of particles.

It got me thinking about cannabis (surprise, surprise!). One thought I had was about the cultural shift toward a much more amicable approach to marijuana law. What if this shift is the result of enough people aligning their thoughts toward a common outcome?

On a more individual level, this notion of “thinking your reality into being,” reinforced my belief that globally legalizing weed would create a more peaceful populace. If thought creates reality and stoners, generally speaking, are thinking more peaceful thoughts, wouldn’t that correlate to a more peaceful world? Of course, this could also lead to human-sized bags of Cheetos and college courses in speaking to turtles.

Now, before I am bombarded with comments, I fully understand that I am grossly oversimplifying this idea and there is not a whole lot of hard science to back me up. It’s just something that I found interesting. I also know that there is almost no realistic way to measure or quantify data to prove or disprove my thoughts, so take them for what you will.

I will leave you with this:

“Thus the fusion of our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and intentions, which I will call the human energy field for simplicity’s sake, is perpetually informing the quantum reality within us and around us at each moment of our existence. And because reality is flashing in and out of existence (hypothetically at Planck time – 10 to the 44th power times per second – as explained by The Resonance Project biophysicist William Brown), every time our reality oscillates between form, and the pure energy state of the field, our awareness which is constant and doesn’t flash in and out of existence informs the field what to reappear as when it makes its transition back to form at the quantum level.”

There you have it, your world, our world, is recreated by our minds gazillions of times per second. Smoke a doob and fill your mind with positive thoughts!
