How to Increase the Strength of Any Flower: Add some Wax!, Source: Prospero Weedist

I like to crush up wax into my flower & then roll several joints ready to go

As a butender who works 40+ hours a week at a Denver recreational marijuana dispensary, I see a good deal of customers (previously patients at an mmj dispensary) who like raw marijuana and have been using it for many years to help with a variety of medical aliments. For many long time smokers, raw flower just doesn’t have the same effect it used to when they first started smoking.

While good weed will always do the trick in some capacity, those looking for the same level of high after years and years of repeated use will find that, like any other kind of substance, the human body can and always will develop a natural tolerance.

For those people who do come in asking for something stronger, I usually have a few different recommendations depending on exactly what the patient is hoping to get out of their smoking sessions. Bubble hash is a good place to start, since it’s really designed to be a good bowl topper anyway; just add a few pinches of good bubble hash to any bowl, joint, or blunt and it’ll definitely kick it up a noch or two.

However, bubble hash will only get you so far because although it’s usually much higher in THC then just straight raw bud, it’s still nowhere near the cannabanoid level you tend to see in earwax, shatter, and other full melt concentrates. For smokers really looking to up the level of each of their sessions, adding wax is the best way to blast off to another planet.

The entire dab process relies on the fact that wax will melt and not burn like raw bud or even bubble hash. Because of this, the only change that you need to make while smoking a bowl with wax on it is to hold the lighter away from the bowl for just a few seconds and wait to watch it actually melt over your flower. If you just apply a direct flame to the wax, it’ll end up melting all that good THC off before it has a chance to melt onto the bud; if you can do that, then the wax will melt all over and make a much stronger, longer lasting bowl.

To add wax into a joint or blunt, simply crumble up some into your mixture, distributing it evenly so that it all melts down without running too much. (Flashing it a bit before you do add it to the wrap or paper should also help.)

Any long time smoker looking to add a very nice kick to any session should definitely get some wax and add it to their flower.
