Concentrates

Happy Camper Ice Wax - my favorite strains weed cannabis, Source: Colorado Dugout Weedist

Happy Camper Ice Wax is a concentrate made from fresh, frozen plant material that is sifted through fine micron screen. The batch that I tried had a clear, amber color, was sticky, and also melted well.

This ice wax (aka bubble hash) tasted kind of like beef Ramen noodles. It wasn’t a strong taste, but more of a slight aftertaste. I know that sounds bizarre, but there’s really no other way that I can explain it. I was smoking with my wife and she was the one that actually suggested that it tasted like this. I was struggling to explain the taste until she had said anything. Every time I’d take a hit from my rig, I found myself wandering into the kitchen shortly after to raid the fridge again. I think that the food-like taste was tricking my mind into ‘find some food’ mode.

HCIW is a hybrid and produces a very intense and unique high. My mind was focused, I had mental energy, was not tired, and I felt intensely relaxed. But I was not so relaxed that I was unproductive. Time sped by quickly as I got sucked into watching another season of Breaking Bad. I did have a strong case of the munchies while smoking and managed to demolish a box of rice cereal and some cocoa pebbles.

I would exclusively smoke ice wax, however, the prices are a little restrictive for my weed budget. A gram of butane wax costs $24.95, whereas a gram of ice wax costs $44.95. I switched in the middle of my smoking session back to Happy Camper Wax and did not get the same smooth relaxing high that I was getting with HCIW. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a smooth high without the heavy butane crash at the end.
