This week we find a not-so-simple spoon: a monster claw pipe with a slyme glass accent.

Monster Claw Pipe with Slyme Glass

This cool pipe is brought to us from the Etsy shop of Primo Glass. The listing describes the piece as:

“This interesting pipe was made with butterscotch colored glass. This piece was made to look like a monster claw. The monster’s claw has black fingernails with blood dripping down the entire piece. There is also a spike of slyme glass coming out of the side. This piece stands up on its own. It measures 4 inches long and 2 inches wide.”

Primo Glass

Jersey in da house! This glass artist hails from Long Branch, New Jersey. For those of you not familiar with the Garden State, Long Branch is a beach town along the Atlantic Ocean with relatively easy access to NYC (90 minutes by train). Long Branch is located on the New Jersey Transit “North Jersey Coast Line” out of Manhattan and interestingly, it is the last town on the line serviced by electric trains. To travel further south on The Shore you need to switch over to a waiting diesel locomotive. This seemingly small inconvenience drives East Coasters nuts (speaking as a reforming East Coaster), so for the NYC commuters, this means Long Branch is effectively the end of the line.

Atlantic Ocean beach, the commuter train and easy access to New Jersey highways make Long Branch a pretty interesting shore community of beach lovers and commuters.
