My Favorite Strains: Island Sweet Skunk, Source: http://www.cannabissearch.com/imgs/strains-167.jpgWith so many different strains of medical marijuana currently available in Colorado medical marijuana dispensaries, it is understandably overwhelming to many first time patients that may not know the difference between sativa or indica strains.

Here at Weedist we’ve been talking about our favorite strains a lot recently. I had a post about a few different favorites of mine for daytime and active use, and I’d like to add one more to the list of great sativa strains: Island Sweet Skunk.

Island Sweet Skunk (often “ISS” for short) is said to have its origin in Vancouver, Canada and tends to be an 8-9 week flower time when growing. Typically it has some very sticky buds with a bright green color and lots of red hairs and crystals.

Every ISS I have tried from Colorado medical marijuana dispensaries has a sweet taste that is light in the palate with a strong smell. The effect is almost always a bright, active sativa high that is great for daytime use. People who want relieve from migraines might also like this strain, which definitely has an uplifting effect.

Sativa fans have to try Island Sweet Skunk for its heady feeling, similar to Kali Mist or Super Lemon Haze. Don’t pass this up when you see it at your local medical marijuana dispensary!
