This week I was inspired by my 2 year old running around in the backyard chasing butterflies. So what kind of butterfly pipes, bongs and other accessories are out there?
Butterfly Pipes, Bongs and Paraphernalia
Several of the pipes shown above are from Etsy artists, including Topangea, TheMachineGlass, ESPfabrications and LoudActions. One of the pipes above was created using a method called electroforming. The butterfly on this pipe started out as a living creature. After it was dead, the artist used electroforming to deposit many thin layers of metal onto the butterfly, with an amazing results! Here’s the comment from the artist:

“These are the sickest electroformed creatures we have. The butterfly and the hornet are encased in copper and were real living creatures. They were recovered from Scot’s pool and are forever preserved in these functional masterpieces.”
Very cool indeed!
