Consumption

Medical marijuana has always had a certain smell that is just impossible for the true cannabis connoisseur to pass up. I’ve had several different batches of Golden Goat from many different medical marijuana dispensaries in Denver, Colorado, and I’ve found it to be one of the most consistently tasty and strong sativa dominant strains.

Several different sources attribute Golden Goat to a seed breeder in Topeka, Kansas, which is definitely a world away from Jamaica, where the smell and flavor of this strain gets it roots. A cross of a Hawaiian strain (probably Island Sweet Skunk, another one of my favorite strains) and Romulan, this strain has always given me an uplifting, energetic feeling no matter where I have gotten it.

My Favorite Strains: Golden Goat, Source: Prospero

Golden Goat: Sweet smell, lots of crystals, and plenty of red hairs with some darker green leaves

One of my first experiences was a quarter of Golden Goat from Herban Medicinals in Denver. Just like every batch of Golden Goat I’ve ever had, I distinctly remember the strong and sweet smell that matched a full-flavored taste. The happy, uplifting feeling is definitely well suited to daytime use.

Like many sativa-dominant strains, Golden Goat typically has a 8 to 9 week flower time; I’ve seen it growing before and have definitely seen some great looking top colas with some stretchy buds and a good yield.

Golden Goat is not a strain that’s going to be good for sleep or heavy sedation. It’s good for getting out and doing something active. Also a good strain for first-time smokers, I think a well-grown batch of Golden Goat has the sweet, tasty flavor and awesome, fun effect that makes cannabis such a great time.
