Prospero’s Grow Week 7: Starting to Flower and Introduction of Advanced Nutrient Bud Candy

After almost 2 weeks of having my cannabis plants in flower in my studio apartment in Denver, I can say that things are going well.

Almost too well, as many growers (and a few fellow Weedist writers) warned me might happen. I’ve had to raise my lights up, as the plants are rapidly growing very tall. They have just really started to show their first signs of buds, which is very exciting. They’re not quite far enough along to really show off some good pictures, but next week I’m sure they’ll be at a good place to get a few shots of actual flowers.

I’m still using The Other Tomato nutrients and supplementing with Nirvana from Advanced. I have also just added one final soil booster, also from Advanced Nutrients: Bud Candy.

Bud Candy is a good booster to use during flower, because it’s supposed to not only just increase yield, but also improve the taste of the final product. While it is more “synthetic” then any other nutrient I’ve used up to this point, I’m being careful to only give a small amount to increase the taste of my buds. (I’ve only been adding 5 ml at a time every 4 days or so.)

Overall I’m happy with the progress the plants are making and expect that I’ll have decent harvest of Third Dimension and Triple Diesel in about a month.

I’ve still been holding off on the juicing right now, as I want to give the plants as much time as possible to really grow without cutting off any leaves. I think that at this rate, however, I’m going to need to start trimming pretty soon. I’ll make sure to let everyone know when I’m back juicing cannabis every single day!
