AJ Roberts Recycler

This week’s piece of the week is a fantastic example of a truly multi-purpose rig. I mean, I really dig it for flowers and for concentrates, equally. Flowers remain king, but oils are rapidly catching up and the market is clamoring for multi-functionality. Personally, I’m a bona-fide errl head now, so my piece sympathies tend to lean that way. However, when I saw this thing percolate, I immediately wanted a snap to chase my dab.

It’s all about the vortex in the AJ Recycler. Everybody loves a super bubbed and nicely diffused hit, but the pipe porn tends to end when the smoke clears…until now. You gotta watch the video below and see how the water “recycles” back into the tank- ridiculous! I love this idea of “water on the move” so to speak since, normally, it’s confined to a chamber or chambers. With the Recycler, the smoke and water seem to dance just a little longer. I also love that this piece actually comes as a kit. Each model I have seen comes heady colored (displayed is Slyme), with a matching dome and dedicated, diffused down stems for flowers and concentrates. The functional dab dish as a result of the pinched splash guard sends the swag over the top on this one.

Glass Artist AJ Roberts

AJ Roberts is part of what I think is the greatest secret in the stoner universe. Some of the industries most talented and coveted artists throw down in quiet Upstate NY! There I was thinking these guys bedded down on dank nug mattresses in SoCal, but it’s more like clandestine dabs up in Sleepy Hollow. I lovingly refer to them as the glass mafia, heavy hitters juiced all the way to the top of this game. AJ has been in studio with some of the glass world’s most majestic figures, including Jason Lee and Mike Fro. You wouldn’t know it by speaking with him though; as folks go, he’s as chill as they come. I had the pleasure of meeting AJ courtesy of b2 and Google Hangouts. AJ and b2 are occasional shop mates- boy was I lucky to catch them in the mix. (Thanks again!)

The AJ Roberts Recycler really has it all going on. Sick to look at, sturdy on the table and randy to rip- expect to see these in head shops coast to coast. I can remember when essentially a straw in water was percolation; how far we’ve come… #lightersup
