The Culture High Kickstarter Update #36: The Non-Magical Part of Film-Making!

On Wednesday, we received the latest Kickstarter update (#36) from one of our favorite projects: The Culture High, by Adam Scorgie. We support this Kickstarter project and encourage you to see it in a theater near you, when the film is released in 2014.

Hey Everyone!

So after the exciting interview with Snoop, the production had to get ALL of the non-magical part of the production done, in fact, I would refer to it as the miserable part, lol.

This is the part of film-making I don’t believe ANYBODY likes to do, but it is one of the most important parts PAPERWORK!

In order for a production to run professionally and efficient, having all your paperwork in order is key, SPECIALLY when dealing with the always sensitive and controversial subject of Cannabis. There’s a great saying in the film industry that is SO TRUE that I wanted to share

“The most successful projects, aren’t always the best ideas, there the projects with the cleanest paperwork”

I have attached a photo for everyone to see the AWESOME experience of getting all the production insurance, Errors and Omissions insurance, along with clearances, contracts, legal, incorporation documents, interim financing applications, provincial and federal tax forms and applications AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

The picture truly does NOT do it justice of just how much FUN (meaning a painful nightmare) this side of film making really is.

I know I keep saying this, but now that my crew, director Brett Harvey, and editor and co-producer Stephen Green are free and clear from their other contractual obligations our updates on Facebook/Twitter and Kickstarter will start to become MUCH more frequent, in FACT, we will probably start to annoy people, lol.

Switching gears a little, Stephen Green, our editor and production manager just finished being one of the assistant editors on the new Weinstein animated movie “Escape From Planet Earth”

Just wanted to share that with everyone and give Stevo and big Kickstarter congrats!

Needless to say, Stephen, Brett and I are all eagerly looking forward to work full time on the The Culture High and feature docs, this is where our passion is, and we are SOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED to have started production with Snoop and start rolling camera 24/7
