3D-Printed Bongs Are Now a Thing

Guns with 3D-printed parts are rather unnerving, and 3D-printed hamburgers sound gross, but on the more fun side of the spectrum, 3D-printed bongs exist, and have been uploaded to MakerBot’s Thingiverse file-sharing hub. The most elaborate pieces feature embellishments like Super Mario and a skull, which have been downloaded 92 and 90 times, respectively.

The legality of printing your own paraphernalia might be in question here, but the bigger problem is whether these 3D-printed bongs actually work. It’s just plastic, right? Wouldn’t the bowl melt every time you try to light up?

the flame would actualy hit the bowl (hopefully )and the plastic would be made to withstand high heat or heat to get you high

Most plastics are considered unsafe for use in bongs. It’s not just the obvious heat thing at the bowl end, but water + leached chemicals + weed smoke = unknown negative health consequences down the road. These are fun as prototypes, but I wouldn’t smoke out of them regularly, even if I *did* literally smoke regularly!
