Celebrate the End of Prohibition Speakeasy with  Madeline Martinez, the World Famous Cannabis Cafe and Women for Measure 80 .  Join us on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 6:00 pm in the true tradition of speakeasies from the Roaring 20’s, as we say “good-bye” to cannabis prohibition in Oregon just days before the election.

“Costumes are optional, and we hope everyone will join in the fun and dress up,” says Martinez, the café owner.  “We are hopeful that Measure 80 will pass, in spite of polling results.  The café has always supported regulation of cannabis for all adults.”

Door fee is $5 and includes a spaghetti dinner with salad, rolls and root beer floats.  A medicated chocolate fountain provided by Rabbithole Productions tops off their delicious menu.

Inspirational Beets

Inspirational Beets, with their prohibition-style music, will really set the mood.   The band performs songs from the 1920s and ‘30s, when alcohol was illegal and cannabis was on drugstore shelves. Influenced by musicians the likes of Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Bessie Smith, and Fats Waller, Inspirational Beets hope to bring a welcome sound for all generations to enjoy.

Doug Williams, coordinator of the event is excited about the evening.  “I want this speakeasy to be as authentic as possible; invite all your friends.  After all, it IS a speakeasy!  We are making history with this election!”

Donate and Win!

A silent auction will take place throughout the evening.  It includes donations from Tamara Adams Art, Brothers with Glass and Randy Plew of Plew’s Brews.  The variety of items ranges from amazing local art, a framed Peter Tosh autograph to glassware, jewelry and more.  Items are being added daily by generous supporters of Measure 80.

A 50/50 raffle is also planned for the night.  Tickets will be $5 each, or 5 for $20.  Proceeds are split 50/50 with the winner and Measure 80.  This is the perfect time to make a donation, and support Measure 80 and win a little extra cash!
