marijuana is safe; source: http://www.jayselthofner.com/images/how%20does%20cannabis%20compare.gifThis infographic, created with data compiled in 1994 by Dr. Jack E. Henningfield and Dr. Neal L. Burkowitz, is just one of the vast sea of examples that demonstrate the fact that marijuana is safe. Compared to nicotine, heroin, cocaine, alcohol and caffeine, cannabis is a harmless intoxicant.

Of course, it’s the intoxication that some people find objectionable. The thoughts that marijuana is dangerous and addictive are simply misinformation spread by those that dislike seeing others intoxicated, or those that actually believe the lies themselves.

Marijuana is Safe.

It is far safer than any other drug, and even safer than many of the products we come into contact with on a regular basis. Marijuana is less addictive than even caffeine, and could be used successfully as treatment for harmful addictions such as cocaine and heroin.

I hope that this November we will see a step toward national legalization in the form of the state-wide legalization measures being taken in Washington, Oregon and Colorado. I personally believe that the measure here in Colorado, Amendment 64, will pass. I can only hope that it will actually bring reform, rather than more unnecessary police enforcement of my Favorite Plant.
