Weedist – What’s in a Name

Weedist was created to help bring cannabis out of the dark shadows of our society.

“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”

After 75 years of Federal prohibition, the level of reefer madness misinformation is still too high. Our humble aim is be to a go-to destination for like-minded, passionate and active people to share their stories, knowledge, practical tips and zeal for ending prohibition on the cannabis plant.

Weed is more than a simple hobby to a weedist. Enjoying the various and distinct highs and health benefits of cannabis is a core part of our lifestyle and what defines us.

Weedists cut across racial, gender, religious, and socioeconomic lines, cannabis is the ultimate icebreaker.

Weedist  just felt like the right name for the site given our backgrounds and our mission.

Weedist: A person who is way into weed; a studious, scholarly devotee of marijuana.

The only thing we’d add is “a scholarly devotee and champion of marijuana.” We strongly believe weedists should be vocal and pushing our politicians hard to end the failed war on marijuana and legalize it. 55% of the U.S. supports legalization. Lets help shine a light on the fact weedists come from all walks of life, prohibition has failed and is ruining innocent people’s lives, and make it a national agenda.
